Blackbeard
Blackbeard was born in 1680 and died in 1718. Supposidly his real name was Edward Teach, but later he got the nick-name Blackbeard. Edward recieved this nick-name because he used to braid his long black beard, and tied the tips with little blue ribbons. He also would burn hemp cords under his hat causing smoke to come down from it. Blackbeard also buried treasure, but not the type you'd think. Instead of gold, rubies, and other types of precious gemstones, he buried chests of silk, cotton, tools, and sailing supplies. He was the sole pirate who did this. Anyways why bury chests of gold and jewels? Then you wouldn't be able to spend it.
Blackbeard caused much debate because he took over a merchant ship and became captain. He had what was known as a reign of terror, that lasted for two years. Blackbeard fought many of the officials, and one day he fought a captain of the officers that tried to stop him, and the captain chopped off Blackbeard's head. They threw his body into the ocean, but hung his head on the top of his mast as a warning to the other pirates not to mess with the English's officers, and to stop piracy.

Edward of England
Edward of Englandwas born as Edward Seegar in Ireland , was a famous pirate sailing the African coast and Indian Ocean from 1717 to 1720. England was an officer on a Jamaican sloop which was captured by Christopher Winter. It was then that he became a Caribbean pirate by joining Winter's crew. The ships he sailed on included the Pearl . He exchanged her for the Fancy in 1720. His flag was the classic Jolly Roger with a skull above two crossed thigh bones on a black background. An English privateer, Woodes Rogers, attacked the pirate's stronghold in the Bahamas. Edward England managed to escape and he took many prizes while sailing along the coast of Africa, the Azores and Cape Verde islands. England traded his sloop for a larger ship & renamed her, the Pearl and returned to Africa in the spring of 1719. He was very successful, preying on two dozen ships. One ship the pirates kept, named her Victory and made John Taylor the captain.

This is a picture of John Rackham/Calico Jack, in it he is posing for a sketch to be done of himself.

Calico Jack
Born with the name of John Rackham, Calico Jack is famous for recruiting and wooing  the famous women pirate; Anne Bonny. He recieved the name Calico Jack because of all the different colored pants he wore. He had been a pirate twice. How did this happen you may ask? Well he gave into the government and was left alone, but got bored and went back to his old pirating ways.
He was a center of supertious debate, because it was said that having women aboard the ship would cause bad luck. Apparently, he did not believe in these superstitions because he allowed not only one, but two women aboard his ship. These lucky lasses were Anne Bonny and Mary Read. Turns out after all they were lucky, because when Jack wad drunk with the rest of the crew, Anne Bonny and Mary Read were fighting off English officers. Sadly none of the men joined, the ship was captured, and Calico Jack met his maker at the gallows. His crime? piracy.
